Biographer and social historian who inspired the well-known TV series “Home Fires”. Her latest book “Our Uninvited Guests” tells the secret lives of Britain’s Country Houses during the Second World War.
Her new book which will be published in February 2020 is
entitled “Dressed for War”, the story of Vogue editor
Audrey Withers from the Blitz to the Swinging Sixties.

Create sculptures from templates for either indoors or outdoors.
There will be a short break for lunch at 12-30.

Annual Council Meeting

Our speakers for the Annual Council Meeting 2020 are: Sally Illsley Girlguiding Division Commissioner for Loughborough and former UK Deputy Chief Guide Jasvinder Sanghera CBE founder of Karma Nirvana and author Rev. Kate Bottley Journalist, television and radio presenter and Church of England priest
Doors open at 9.30am to shop at the stalls, view competitions and Committee displays. Please bring a packed lunch. Drinks are available for sale and you may wish to bring your own reusable cup.
Parking is limited, so please car share, use public transport or be dropped off.
Due to limited tickets, each WI will be allocated tickets pro-rata to their membership numbers plus one free delegate ticket. These need to be applied for before 25 November 2019 using your WI’s dedicated ACM booking form. After this date any tickets not applied for will be released to members on the waiting list.
